Self-employed in the computer industry for the last twenty years of her life Yvonne Bulger was prevented from authoring a novel that required devoted hours. Eventually free of the ‘salt mine’ she began unpacking the storage locker in her mind that had been bursting at the seams since she was a teenager. Diving head-long into the genres she loves so much, countless hours, weeks, months and years later a Science fiction/Fantasy novel emerged. Yvonne aspired to allow her readers to be propelled into an epic chronicle, to become enthralled by an all-encompassing array of colliding and wonderfully mysterious characters, worlds within worlds, magic, mystery, an unusually refreshing and imaginative take, involving awful aliens and good guys. Above all she hoped to create a conduit for her readers, allowing them to journey away from the daily grind. It is Yvonne’s firm belief that having to wait so long to write her first novel was perhaps meant to be, it was the right timing for a ‘feel good’ novel, a novel she hoped would fulfil all expectations and allow the reader to drift away and enjoy adequate action, and an overload of intrigue, with a message. After brief deliberation Yvonne decided it was quite acceptable to add images between the text, “it is after all that kind of story,’ she said. With visual prompting, she hoped her readers would love the characters as much as she had become devoted to them. When she is not writing Yvonne is an amateur pastel pencil artist, an avid amateur astronomer, a wife to her magnificently even-tempered husband, Gord, and mom to a little white bichon, shih tzu cross appropriately named Laika.
