Jamie Elmore is a hairstylist, salon owner of JSalon in Seattle, WA and has worked in the industry for 30 years. After her initial diagnosis in 2004, she was incredibly surprised by the lack of resources available for something that is a worldwide epidemic. Striving to regain normalcy in her life she began dreaming, planning, and becoming a resource for what she wished was accessible when she was dealing with the post traumatic effects of Alopecia and her firsthand experiences of hair loss. She aims to tackle the issue of Alopecia and give a voice to men, women, and children around the world, who suffer in silence. Understanding that 147 million people worldwide suffer from Alopecia the need became critical and global. Thus, Alopecia Support Group was born in 2009. Jamie began creating innovative ways of healing that include but are not limited to retreats, one-on-one and group coaching, writing, team building, exercise, Image and Accessory workshops, and global pen pals. Jamie is an advocate, healer, and mentor. Jamie began writing as a hair loss columnist in four publications, CKW- The Chea K. Woolfolk Magazine, OK Hair Magazine, Presidential Style Magazine, and The Seattle Medium news- paper and has been a guest on several radio shows and podcast. Jamie also had the honor of being featured on the cover of Courageous Woman Magazine 2018. In 2020 Jamie became the Editor in Chief of Bald Life Magazine where she features Men, Women and Children from all walks of life that are living with hair loss due to Alopecia, Cancer, medically induced or simply by choice. The Magazine is a global platform for bald individuals to heal, find their voice and share their stories. Jamie was intentional when she formed her editorial team. Her team are all bald from alopecia and or they work in the hair loss industry in some capacity. Bald Life Magazine is the first on the market to cater to the hair loss and bald community. Jamie is the founder of the Bald Boss Community, author, motivational speaker, Alopecia confidence coach, radio producer, executive producer of the documentary Harmony Alopecia Stories, advocate, healer, and mentor.
