Eri Tafa was born in the city of Tirana, Albania, on August 23, 1983. He completed his higher education (3+2) in the field of "Cinema, Television, and Multimedia Production" at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bologna in Italy. After finishing his studies, he dedicated himself to the publishing and film house "Vëllezërit Tafa," mainly specializing in publications for children.He is the author of a significant contemporary Albanian literature novel titled "Self-Portrait with Watercolors." This novel, media-praised for its artistic values and innovations, was published in 2022 and has been reprinted in 2023.Eri Tafa, in collaboration with his brother, Taulant Tafa, has written several books for children.Together, with his brother, they have translated numerous literary works of renowned children's literature authors such as Astrid Lindgren, Carlo Collodi, Gianni Rodari, Lewis Carroll, Alberto Moravia, Andersen, the "Brothers Grimm," La Fontaine, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, etc. Some of the multitude of translated works are: "Alice in Wonderland," "Pippi Longstocking," "Pippi on Board," "Pippi in the South Seas," "Emil of Lönneberga," "Emil the Terrible," "Emil the Invincible," "Cipollino," "Fairy Tales on the Phone," "Fairy Tales and Fantasies," "The Jeep in the TV," "The Cake that Fell from the Sky," "The Dream Boat," "Andersen Selected Fairy Tales," "Grimm Selected Fairy Tales," "La Fontaine," "The Little Prince," "Pinocchio," etc.On the 150th anniversary of the first publication of "Alice in Wonderland," their translation into Albanian (by Eri and Taulant) was selected and ranked among the most special of all the translations to date and was analyzed in the voluminous memorial publication of this world-renowned children's literature masterpiece.Eri Tafa has participated as a co-author or collaborated on several documentary film productions.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
