Author Name
Jack Kunst (Author)
Jack Kunst (1953- )was born in Stettler, Alberta, Canada, where he spent his early years. Subsequently, he has lived in Edmonton, Calgary, and Kaslo, British Columbia with sojourns to Australia and the UK before settling back in Alberta near Pincher Creek. Blessed with a vivid(read; wild) imagination, Jack has been making up stories from an early age. Still, his first published writings were historical in nature as history has always been his passion. His novel, Heathen Hearts, a "Viking " story in five volumes was his first published book. His latest novel, A'insinai'pi Where the Writings Are was inspired by the layered landscape of Southern Alberta with its rugged Badlands, vast Plains and awe inspiring Rocky Mountains. Add on a topping of exciting history involving First Nations, Whiskey Traders, Cowboys, Pioneers and Mounted Police and the book almost wrote itself. Smallpox wiped out Wolfberry's family. She spent the winter of 1869-70 alone with their ghosts.

In the spring, as Night Walker Woman, a "manly hearted" warrior woman, she sets out to find her world changed by the coming of the Whiskey Traders on the Whoop-up Trail. John Hoise joined the 2nd Minnesota Cavalry to punish the Injuns for their depredations against white settlers.

Now with his partner and friend James Moreau he uses their reputations as skilled Plainsmen to scout and guide the Whiskey traders as they come up the Whoop-up Trail. Jillian Lindahl was just a kid, innocent with a head full of princes and princesses.

Her father, always restless, moved his family west to Montana in a quest for gold. It will be with a sense of adventure and unfailing belief in her own abilities that she finds her place in the rough and dangerous world of the Whiskey Traders along the Whoop-up trail.
