Author Name
Montgomery Harris (Author)
Montgomery Harris, also known as The Steampunk Wordsmith is the creator of The Age of the Navigator Series. Beginning in 1657 with the sinking of the S.S. Central America, the alternative universe, which was identical to our own until 1814, is unveiled. Giant all-terrain Vehicles known as Navigators are surpassing the creation of the locomotive as the new wonder of the world. One woman, Addie Easton, believes the machines are the key to the future of transcontinental travel in North America. The series introduces and follows a vast cast of the tinkers who have created the Navigator Machines as they prepare to enter into an experimental race known as "The Great North American Transcontinental Navigator Rally". However, the mid-nineteenth century is a turbulent time, and forces who see the new technology as a means to forming their own draconian empire; it will be an empire based on persecution, bigotry and absolute control of commerce. Those who understand the threat of the threat emerging from the shadows also understand that whomever wins the race to perfect the most efficient Navigator will most likely be the victor in the battle for freedom. Born into the industrial heartland of Britain in the 1970s, Montgomery Harris bore witness to the decline of heavy industry and the devastating effect such change had on the community/ However, he was born to a family of proud working class people in a town known as the Walsall, the town of one hundred trades. The craftsmanship and the reach of Black Country is one of a tiny part of England reaching out across the globe. Yet the Black Country is as far reaching in the arts as it is with it's industry. The Black Country, an area smaller than Portland Oregon but with a population greater than Dallas, Texas, the arts have always been encouraged, and Montgomery Harris as always been more focused on creativity in words and not at the furnace. However, the path was a circuitous one, Montgomery Harris joined the British Army at aged sixteen and served until his middle twenties. Reentering civilian life and finding that the title of soldier did nothing for a resume, he attended the University of Leeds and earned a BA (Hons) in History and Politics. After four years of having difficulty settling down in Britain, Montgomery Harris met the love of hoiis life Sherry and moved to the United States.Having spent over a decade producing live action role-playing games, Miliary Simulation Scenarios and Murder Mystery Dinners, plus working a full-time management position, he was devastated to find out his eyesight was failing. With no excuse other than self-pity, which he considers a lame excuse, there was a period of depression caused from the constant boredom of now being blind and having to relearn the basic skills needed to move around and complete daily chores.A year later he wrote his first book, Z1O5 Countdown, a story of the 24 hours prior to a Zombie Outbreak."Z1O5 was good story," monty confesses, "but it was a much better lesson for me when it came to being a writer."After cancelling a series of books about a world wide pandemic in the spring of 2020, Monty turned to another great source of pleasure. The Steampunk World always a fascination for Montgomery Harris, became the inspiration for "The Age of The Navigator. A four year journey of research, writing and plotting developed this massive undertaking; it is an undertaking revealed to the world in 2024 with the release of 'An Incident of Impetus: Book One in the Age of the Navigator Series."Monty ids married to Wife Sherry and lives in Pennsylvania. He has two daughters and three grandchildren and can be often found at conventions across the North East, either presenting a panel, helping friends on their booth or displaying his latest cosplay."I could, and have worn many hats in my life. A writers hat was the one I always wanted, but my favorited by far is the one that says 'Dad'" Montgomery Harris.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Based on the Steampunk and Alternative History Series 'Age of the Navigator' by Montgomery Harris, this coloring book uses images inspired by books one and two. Packed with images of characters, vehicles, street scenes and puzzles from book one 'An Incident of Impetus' and book two 'The Confluence City Conspiracy', this book is fun for kids from eight to eighty.
