ABOUT DAMINABO SONNY BRIGGSDaminabo Sonny Briggs is a retired consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons); he is from Kalabari kingdom, an indigene of Abonnema in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. Born about three scores ago in Degema, he attended the famous Bishop Crowther Memorial (BCM) School, Abonnema, and passed out with Distinction in 1965. It was there, as a primary school pupil, his innate tendencies of script writing and acting came to the fore. This innate ability popped up again during his secondary school days in Kalabari National College (KNC) Buguma, where he passed out in Division One in 1972. There he scripted, produced and acted a leading role in a drama entitled “DAN BLOCKER “. All these paved the foray into the field of writing when, he wrote the manuscript of his first novel,” AZ Mafia: The Namerian Experience” in 1983, as a youth corps member.
