Cleland is a PhD Candidate at Knox College, Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto, an adjunct professor at Heritage College and Seminary, and Director of NEXT (Young Adult) Ministries at Grandview Church, Kitchener. Jon has published articles in Evangelical Quarterly, The Journal of Andrew Fuller Studies, and Unio Cum Christo and has co-authored two books with Michael A.G. Haykin: “Rooted, strengthened, thankful”: The Story of West Highland Baptist Church, Hamilton, Ontario (2022) and “A priceless heritage”: A History of Heritage College and Seminary in three essays (2023). Jon’s main research interests concern the history of Reformed theology, the Reformer Peter Martyr Vermigli, and Canadian Church History. The new entity, Heritage College and Seminary, has since been a key source on the landscape of Ontario for a robust Evangelicalism.

This brief history in three essays celebrates God’s work in and through Heritage and the two schools that merged thirty years ago. .
