I am from a small midwest town, La Porte, Indiana, where I grew up on my family farm, with my four siblings. After attending Ball State and Indiana University, I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980. As a single parent raising two small kids, I joined the electrical apprenticeship in 1989 for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW Local 531, to become a Journeyman Inside Wireman. I retired in 2022 to write "A Pirate's Story; Journey of a Female Electrician" in order to encourage young independent women to try new possibilities.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
