Author Name
David Lee Corley (Author)
Father. Writer. Nomad. That’s me. I’ve written 14 novels and 24 screenplays, four of which became motion pictures. I’ve written in a wide variety of genres but nowadays I mostly write historical war fiction with lots of action and suspense. I love the lessons history can teach us if we pay attention. I pride myself on being historically and technically accurate, but I am far from perfect. My favorite authors are Cormac McCarthy because he dislikes unnecessary punctuation, Ernest Hemingway because he wrote The Old Man and the Sea, and Elmore Leonard because he cracks me up. I would add Stephen King because he writes interesting characters, but I don’t want to be a hog.I walk my own path in life and seek the extraordinary. I’ve been around the world three times and visited 56 countries. Like my father, I love seeing what’s over the next hill. I scuba dived the Great Barrier Reef, touched the giant stone heads of Siem Reap, got mugged in Guadalajara, hiked the Great Wall of China, sailed around the karst islands of Halong Bay, fell under the spell of flamenco in Madrid, awed by the carved stone buildings of Petra, climbed up to the Greek monasteries of Meteora, bitten by a huge spider in Laos (not fun), and visited dozens of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Earth is truly amazing. Please take care of it after I’m gone.I have three offspring that are now adults and show little fear to try new things. They used to listen to me. Now, not so much. Probably a good thing. I live in Thailand because I never need to worry about slipping on a patch of ice and falling on my ass. Plus, it’s paradise inhabited by kind people with white-toothed smiles and the food is great. In "A Life Stolen," Elsa Kristiansen, a brilliant young physicist and a committed pacifist, finds herself torn from her moral foundations and thrust into a world of danger and deception during the height of World War II. As she embarks on a perilous mission to stop the Nazis from developing a devastating weapon, Elsa must confront not only the enemy but also her own deepest beliefs.

Disguised as the enigmatic Dr. Paula Aadland, a woman whose values and actions she despises, Elsa must become the very thing she hates to navigate a treacherous landscape of secrets and lies.

With each passing day, as she delves deeper into the heart of the Nazi war machine, Elsa begins to question everything she thought she knew about herself and the world around her. As she grapples with the moral implications of her actions and the blurring lines between her own identity and that of her alter ego, Elsa embarks on a profound journey of self-discovery and transformation.

"A Life Stolen" is a thrilling tale of courage and conviction, a testament to the unbreakable spirit of one remarkable woman as she fights to save the world and, ultimately, redeem herself. In "A Life Stolen," David Lee Corley weaves a captivating tale of courage, sacrifice, and the unbreakable human spirit.

Set against the backdrop of World War II, this powerful novel follows Elsa Kristiansen, a young American physicist torn between her pacifist ideals and her duty to prevent the Nazis from developing a devastating weapon. As Elsa navigates the treacherous world of espionage, she must confront the moral complexities of war and the consequences of her own actions.

With each passing day, she grows stronger, shedding her former self and embracing the persona of the formidable Dr. Paula Aadland.

Through Elsa's eyes, readers are transported to a time of unimaginable hardship and impossible choices. From the halls of academia to the snowy mountains of Norway, "A Life Stolen" paints a vivid picture of a world on the brink of destruction and the brave few who risked everything to save it.

This emotionally charged novel explores the transformative power of love, the resilience of the human heart, and the unbreakable bonds of family. With its richly drawn characters and heart-wrenching twists, "A Life Stolen" is a testament to the enduring strength of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable adversity.
