Author Name
laney leighanne Linseisen (Author)
Laney Leighanne lost her father at 17 years old and didn’t know what would happen next, or if there was a next. She went through every phase of grief imaginable and went back and forth between the phases. She stopped loving the things she loved, stopped eating, stopped sleeping, and barely left her room. One day, after hating everything her father and her had previously done together, she picked up a pen and paper and began writing.. just like her and her dad used to. This became a coping mechanism for her. She was journaling, writing stories, poems, and creating quotes for fun. Laney Leighanne had no idea what she was going to do with her writings, or even if anyone would read them. After two years, and hundreds of poems, she graduated high school and arrived at her college to play college softball. During her first semester, she woke up one day and picked up a bible. That one simple action changed the direction of her life forever. Laney Leighanne began writing with a purpose. She wrote books, nonfiction and fiction. She wrote poetry, about her father, herself, and other aspects of her life. Laney Leighanne found God, and God took her wants and gave her the will to DO. Now she’s been published in, Nature Knows the Way edited by Kevin Watts and also has published her own poetry book, A Father’s Daughter.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

About The BookThis poetry book covers the ugliest and darkest parts of the grieving process. Each poem conveys the different stages and how inconsistent the process is.

One second, you've accepted it, then another second, you're right back to denial. You watch as the narrator tries to familiarize herself with her father being gone while also going through phases of anger, denial, depression, and acceptance.

How does she heal? What helps her?About The AuthorI'm Laney Leighanne. I grew up in the South Houston area until high school, when I moved to Longview, Texas, and graduated.

I now attend college and play college softball in Arkansas. After losing my father in my junior year of high school, it was hard for me to want to continue pushing forward.

I began writing poetry to help myself cope. This is when I began to be able to recognize my emotions and put things into words.

Poetry saved my life. .
