I’m guessing what a reader wants to know is what makes the author choose what they write. My choice came from my childhood desire to be a spy. That’s right; I wanted to be an International Spy. I carried around a small notebook filled with secret codes. If you think I must have spent a lot of time by myself, you’re probably right.My father was a lifer in the Army, so my family, which included an older sister and younger brother, followed him to his posts. Most of my grade school years were spent living in Europe. We spent three years in Germany, 3 1/2 years in Athens, Greece, and the same amount of time in Izmir, Turkey.My father didn’t have high enough ranking to get us housing on base, except in Germany, so we lived out with the nationals. A lot of children of military parents who traveled resented all the moving, but I don’t regret it a bit, never had. It was an interesting childhood. We spent the rest of my dad’s military career in El Paso, Texas where I went to private schools until I was able to convince my mother to let me go to public school my last two years of High School.I married an enlisted man right out of High School; I was just 17. He moved me to Oregon while he did his tour in Viet Nam. I wanted to meet my husband in Honolulu for his R&R, so I taught modern dance classes to earn money.After returning from Viet Nam, we moved to his final post in Colorado. When he was discharged, we moved back to Oregon, then over the state line to Washington State. I found myself pacing the floor late at night, saying, “there has to be more to life than this.” Not long after that, a friend invited me to a Pentecostal Church. There I found what I was looking for and gave my heart and life to God.My husband and I divorced less than a year after my son was born. I became a real estate agent until Mt. St Helens blew and the real estate market took a short hiatus in my area. The next thirty plus years, I spent as an entrepreneur and owned several businesses.My hope is each book emphasizes the love of God to my readers.
