Elke, originally from Eastern Canada, made a life-changing move to the west coast at the tender age of three. At six, she began her cultural immersion by attending the local German Church and the Saturday German School. This early exposure laid the foundation for her passion in poetry, literature, geography, and public speaking.Her literary journey took flight when she published her inaugural poem in the "Pazifische Rundschau" newspaper at the age of nine. Not stopping there, Elke clinched her first speech contest victory at the same age, demonstrating her eloquence. By the time she was 15, Elke had already penned and published her first newspaper article.Driven by creativity, Elke embarked on a career as an Early Childhood Educator. After dedicating eight years to this field, she transitioned to web design and digital technology. Her diverse skill set expanded further as she pursued a course in public relations. Presently, she invests her time in promoting German, Austrian, and Swiss businesses in Vancouver, BC, through her blog "Westcoast German News."Elke's literary pursuits are equally impressive. She is currently working on her second book, brimming with stories of influential figures from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Simultaneously, her third book, featuring more narratives and histories of British Columbia, is slated for release in the spring of 2024.
