The year is 1975. The energy crisis still continues to create havoc in Great Britain with the three-day working week, nationwide strikes and sporadic power cuts 'the norm.

' To make matters worse, the British Secret Service has discovered that an Asian radio station in Leicester is broadcasting in the Yorkshire 'language. 'There's only one solution.

Send for 008 Fred Hepplewhite, Yorkshire's very own secret agent. Although it's not much of a secret anymore as everyone knows where Fred works- at the supermarket in his hometown near Leeds.

Fred is still only Licenced to Grill not Kill. So, as back-up (not that Fred's complaining) the beautiful French secret agent, Agent Camembert, better known to all and sundry as 'Cammy,' has been sent to England to assist Fred 'in the field.

' Cammy lives in a very expensive townhouse in Paris with a new, stainless steel, built-in kitchen and her husband owns a boulangerie just off the Champs-Elysees. But that's beside the point.

It was Cammy who saved Fred's life on his last assignment when he hadbeen sent to Switzerland to put a stop to Baron Von Cuckoo's dastardly plan to get all Swiss citizens to' speak in Yorkshire' and wear 'Yorkshire things' such as flat caps, special ferret trousers with tie-ups at the bottom of each leg to stop the ferret from escaping, waistcoats with rips in them and old tweed jackets with arm-pads. And that was just the clothing for the women!! Fred was successful in Switzerland.

But he couldn't prevent some of the Swiss males from carrying on wearing tight leather shorts, green felt trilby hats with a feather in them and blowing down a long wooden thing with snow-capped mountains in the background. So, now it's a mission closer to home for Fred as he plans to put an end to Terry the Turban-ator and the rest of his presenters and staff from speaking and broadcasting in the Yorkshire language and wearing 'Yorkshire things.

' Armed with an array of gadgets invented by Z, who is in charge of research and development at the British Secret Service HQ in Chelsea, London, Fred and Cammy take the train to Leicester from St Pancras on a gloomy Wednesday night to start their dangerous mission. Will Fred and Cammy have to defend themselves against a cavalcade of curry weaponry from The Turban-ator and his colleagues? Or will Fred's threat of actually grilling The Turban-ator's favourite naan bread be enough to break this most determined Yorkshire-loving radio station owner? Fred has also been armed with a collection of records made by famous UK 1970s crooners whose songs are always guaranteed to break the resolve of any culprit.

But those records are only used as a last resort. Or will Agent Camembert, with her sexy French accent, save the day by tempting The Turban-ator with her deep-fried, onion bhajis? The plot thickens when Fred and Cammy are attacked on the train heading to Leicester by the son of the Turban-ator.

It's a hectic and challanging start to Fred Hepplewhite's latest assignment. And with tongue-in-cheek humour, razor sharp banter, drama, adventure and a little romance, this spy-story parody should have every reader laughing along at every turn of the page.
